The final one from the series of filmmaking workshops, which took place in Slovak, will conclude at the AZYL SHORTS festival in Banska Bystrica.
During our 5-day workshop, young, aspiring filmmakers will become familiar with the various stages of creating an audiovisual work, a film. We will focus on the fundamentals of screenwriting, directing and on-camera work, production, camera operation, as well as editing and sound composition. The workshops are primarily designed for students interested in the art of filmmaking from art schools and high schools.”
During these days, participants, with the assistance of four instructors, will be guided to transform their ideas on the given theme into original one-minute films. This year’s theme is empathy. Work is conducted in small groups, with one instructor leading a maximum of three students. The instructors are young professionals from the film industry, each with different experiences, academic and professional backgrounds, as well as distinct approaches to filmmaking.
The screening of the finalized workshop films will take place as a public event. Workshop participants will have the opportunity to enter their films into a competition for valuable prizes.”
After the workshops are completed, the films will be posted on the AZYL SHORTS festival website in the Workshops section. This way, the films will be made accessible to the general public. The films of young filmmakers will also be shared on the festival’s social media platforms – Facebook and Instagram.”
The organizers’ priority is to support education in the audiovisual field.
