This year’s Czechoslovakian shortlists are similar in importance of used topics, interestingly chosen types of narratives and same number of films they are offering – in both screenings you will see three films representing each country.
V4 SK will bring you feature, animated and documentary movie. “Electra“, in the same named film combining feature and animated parts, rethinks her 10th birthday trying to find out what are her memories and what are dreams and hidden fantasies. “I don’t want to go yet” will introduce us to unexpected destiny of a boy, for whom comes Death, but whose ghost tries everything to escape his destiny in animated fantasy drama. LGBTIQ documentary movie “Poisoned Well” moves us back to terrorist attack at Zámocká street in Bratislava and raises an important question if it is really necessary for people to live in fear.
V4 CZ will bring you three feature films. A boy with a cleft lip tries to pass the initiation ritual to a street gang in film “Rituals“. Short film “Love, 9 to 5” offers bitter comedy about the search for love in the wrong places. Film “Credentialing” will unravel calm night before Christmas holidays that will turn into the fight for a child’s life and both professional and personal credentialing for an inexperienced medic on his first night shift.
